My dinner out almost killed me and left me too scared to leave the house

Ruth Holroyd, 47, almost died after being served a ‘dairy-free’ salmon dish containing cream and milk. Within minutes she had developed a violent red rash and by the time an ambulance arrived 10 minutes later, she was already drifting in and out of consciousness.
